Islamic Center of High Point offers the five daily prayers at the
center in congregation. Please come join us in

Five Daily Prayers:

The five daily prayers consist of Fard al-ayn, Wajib, Sunnah Mukkaddah, Sunnah Ghair Mukkaddah and Nafl. Fard prayer are actions that are obligatory (mandatory) on each Muslim and will be accounted for individually on the day of judgement. Wajib prayers are the prayers that comes next in rank to fard al-ayn in accordance to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The Sunnah prayers which are either prayed before or after the fard prayer according to the rules of each prayer. There are two types of Sunnah prayer Sunnah Mukkaddah and Sunnah Ghair Mukkaddah. Sunnah Mukkaddah are the Sunnah prayer that were practiced by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) on a regular basis and are highly recommended. Sunnah Ghair Mukkaddah are the Sunnah prayers that were occasionally offered by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) so these prayers are encouraged.Nafl prayer are voluntary prayer and can be offered at any time except of the forbidden times.

The forbidden times of prayer are sunrise, true noon, and sunset these times are forbidden in order to prevent the practice of sun worship. Before a prayer can be offered one must perform ghusl (full bath) or wudhu which ever is necessary. There should also be cleanliness of the clothes and the place where one intends to pray. The Muslim should also face the Kaba while offering prayer. These pre-requisites must be met in order for prayer to take place.
