As-Salamu Alaykum (peace be unto you) to all visitors to the Islamic Center of High Point website. We are an independent, non-profit Islamic organization. Our core values are to help local Muslim to practice Islam according to the Quran and Sunnah (traditions) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Our goal is to provide religious, educational, and social activities and facilities to the local Muslim community. We believe that as an Islamic Center it is our duty to share the values of Islam in the local community. Please visit us and pray with us so that we can create a place for ourselves in paradise.

In the Quran Allah (God) states: O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13)

Ramadan Mubarak!


There was a confirmed moonsighting for the start of Ramadan. So the first day of fasting will begin tomorrow Thursday, June 18th.

20 rakat of Taraweeh prayer will take place every night starting from tonight after Ishaa prayer. InshAllah may you take advantage of this blessed month to be of constant prayer, reflection and spiritual uplifting.

Allah (swt) says what can be translated as, “O you who believe, Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may achieve Taqwa (righteousness, God-consciousness).”-Surat Al-Baqarah Verse 183

Ramadan 1436 (2015) Moonsighting


InshAllah the sighting of the moon for Ramadan will take place on
Wednesday, June 17, 2015.

If the moon is sighted on Wednesday, June 17th then Ramadan will begin on Thursday, June 18th. If the moon is NOT sighted on Wednesday, June 17th then Ramadan will begin on Friday, June 19th.

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (January 3rd)

Milad Sharif Ceremony has been arranged on Saturday, January 3rd 2015 after Maghrib prayer at the Islamic Center of High Point. Mr. Qari Bashir Ahmad of South Carolina will be Chief Guest. Local Hafizes and Naatkhawans will be reciting Naats Sharif & Quran Pak. Syed Qadir Shah will be responsible as Stage Secretary. Dinner will be served after Milad Sharif. Everyone is requested to attend this blessed event.
